Cheltenham Community Centre (CCC) is a not for profit organisation that strengthens community by offering all people a diverse range of community services, learning opportunities and resources for personal development.
CCC has over 1000 participants attending a wide variety of services and programs each year, including adult education, childcare, recreational programs for both adults and children and social support groups. |
CCC is supported by funding from a number of organisations. These include Adult Community and Further Education Board, the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing, the Department of Education and Training and the City of Kingston. CCC is one of the largest community providers of the Adult Migrant English Program.
CCC believes in working together in partnerships with local agencies, learning institutes and government to provide individuals and the community with quality programs. CCC enjoys a good working relationship with Southern Community Church of Christ to deliver community festivals, improve facilities for community programs and work on special projects.
All programs at CCC are conducted by highly qualified and experienced staff while management of CCC is overseen by a volunteer Board of Governance.
Please read our Values and Behaviours here.

The Cheltenham Community Centre Inc (CCC), previously known as The Cheltenham Neighbourhood House, was founded in 1986.
Initially a group of people from the Cheltenham Church of Christ (now Southern Community Church of Christ) established an 'open door' friendship group. Over the years this has increased to over 1200 people accessing the Centre each week attending self-help, educational and recreational activities and taking advantage of the occasional child care program. A volunteer Board of Governance elected each year at the annual general meeting, oversees the running of CCC. |
Originally the Neighbourhood House operated from an old house on the church grounds. In 1997 the church rebuilt their worship centre and offered CCC accommodation at a low rental, as one of their contributions to the community. CCC is autonomous from the church and is an incorporated body.
CCC works in partnership with local agencies, learning institutes and government to provide individuals and the community at large with a variety of services.
At the Cheltenham Community Centre, staff encourage volunteers to participate in many areas, thus giving people their right to ownership of this community venture. The benefits of volunteering are many and varied and skills exchange is an excellent way to provide support and development.
