Wise Programs
The Wise Programs are designed for students with mild intellectual disabilities and are comprised of four units - Computer-wise, Money-wise, Food-wise and Retail-wise. Each unit is 20 class hours and runs over 8 weeks. Individual units can also be studied as standalone units.

Retail WiseThis course will provide students with the confidence and basic employability skills to meet the requirements of working or volunteering in a supported retail environment. The aim of this course is to provide the skills, knowledge and confidence to be able to undertake the wide range of tasks required for working in a customer service and retail environment. Possible job roles include: Sales Assistant, Customer Service Assistant |
Food WiseThis course will provide students with the confidence and basic employability skills to meet the requirements of working or volunteering in a supported hospitality environment. This course will give students a sound basic understanding of food safety and handling enabling them to work in local cafes and restaurants. The course includes a strong element of literacy and numeracy as well as the opportunity to provide customer service experience in a friendly and non-judgemental environment. |

This course will teach students how to use Windows 10 - terminology, file management, basic introduction to Word, PowerPoint and Excel, using the internet, searching and email. Learners will improve their skill level and knowledge in completing tasks on a computer and improve their skill in using the internet for day to day needs. . Pathway to Certificate I in Information, Digital Media, and Technology, employment and volunteering. |
This course offers basic familiarisation with numbers and money. It will provide students with the confidence and basic employability skills to meet the requirements of working or volunteering in a supported environment. Students will become more familiar with basic numeracy and will be able to independently conduct basic money transactions, follow directions, prepare and follow a budget, negotiate banking processes and set financial goals |
