- Team selection decisions are based upon the following principles:
- Every player who registers during registration week will be considered for placement in a team in their correct age group.
- Player placement in an older age group team will only be considered if a place is available, and the correct age group team is filled.
- We are bound by KDNA by-laws and players cannot be placed in older sections if they are not deemed the correct age as of 31st December 2022.
- We aim for teams to consist of 8 - 9 players.
- Player selection in 11a1, 13&u, 15&u, 18&u are based on player’s overall ability for the playing level of the competition, and positional ability for team balance. Additionally, we are bound by the KDNA Rep rule as stated in the KDNA by-laws document regarding the number of KDNA representative players in each team (see: https://www.kingstonnetball.com.au/kdna-by-laws-13-july-2020 Section: 6.9-6.11).
- Requests from parents regarding their child will be considered in the following areas – training (day, time and availability), car pooling and playing with friends - but cannot be guaranteed.
- Players who have been selected to play in an Association Representative Team will be given the opportunity to play in an A-grade team, or the highest level team in their age group in the Club pending the KDNA Rep ruling by which we are governed.
- Consideration will be given as to how best to develop a player, for example; players considered to have a higher level playing ability may be given an opportunity to play in a higher level team if possible.
- Players aged 8 – 10 years will be given the opportunity to play with friends wherever possible depending on the number of registrations for the age group.
